Take a part of Haiku home, poured daily in our cafe, now available in-store in Haiku Future and online, we source our Hojicha from a well known grower of premium Matcha and Hojicha in Uji, Kyoto, Japan. Our second of our green tea collection, our premium Hojicha powder delivers the earthy, roasted flavour profile with a nutty aftertaste much like chocolate. Take it home in our air tight tins for ultimate freshness.
Why Hojicha

Texture
Hojicha shows off with a signature reddish-brown colour, different to that of Matcha. We ensure our producer uses only the best leaves rolled tight and roasted to perfection, to deliver that smoky umami. Haiku Hojicha powder is then produced using the jet milling process for finer powder for finer cups of tea.
Freshness
Our Hojicha, alongside with our Matcha is blended monthly on order and air freighted in from Japan at peak freshness. We rely directly on tea farmers, rather than trading companies, paying our producers the right price for the right quality.
Sustainability
Committed to ethical and sustainable practices, our Hojicha is grown responsibly, free of radiation, heavy metals, pesticides and bacteria.

Hojicha Latte Brewing Notes:
- Gently sift 5 grams (2 teaspoon) of Hojicha powder in a small bowl or mug
- Add 3 grams of sugar to the bowl (or your preferred sweetener)
- Pour 40 grams of 80°c water and whisk with a chasen whisk until smooth
- Pour 180 grams of hot milk (65°) and enjoy!
Iced Hojicha Latte Brewing Notes:
- Gently sift 6 grams (2.5 teaspoon) of Hojicha powder in a small bowl or mug
- Add 4 grams of sugar to the bowl (or your preferred sweetener)
- Pour 40 grams of 80°c water and whisk with a chasen whisk until smooth
- Add a few ice cubes
- Pour in 180 grams of cold milk and enjoy!
