Ume Salted Fries

Ingredients (Serves 2)

• 400–500g frozen chips (your choice: straight cut, crinkle, shoestring, or steak fries)
• 1–2 tspHaiku Ume Davidson Plum Salt(adjust to taste)
• Neutral oil for frying (or bake/air-fry if preferred)
• Optional garnishes: chopped spring onion, nori flakes, sesame seeds, or furikake
• Optional dip: kewpie mayo, miso aioli, or yuzu ketchup

Directions

1. Cook the chips
o Deep-fry: Heat oil to 180°C and fry chips until golden and crisp, following 
packet timing.
o Bake or air-fry: Cook until golden and crispy—don’t overcrowd the tray or 
basket for best texture.
2. Season generously: While the chips are still hot, toss them in a bowl with Haiku Ume Davidson Plum Salt. Adjust salt level to taste—it should have a bright, tangy kick without overpowering the fry.
3. Garnish (optional): Sprinkle with toppings like nori flakes, toasted sesame, or finely chopped spring onion.
4. Serve immediately: Pair with your chosen dip or serve as-is.
